My mother always said my dad had selective hearing. And it was so true. I could call "DAD, DAD, DAD" over and over again and not get a response. It took me till my teenage years to work out a trick. If he didn't answer to "DAD" i would shout the word "GOLF". He would immediately turn round and once i had his attention i could ask him what i really need to ask him 😄
